The Dissertations and Thesis Base (Banco de Teses e Dissertações - BTD) is a system from the Industrial Engineering Program (Programa de Engenharia de Produção - PPGEP), at Santa Catarina’s Federal University (Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina - UFSC). It was developed to manage defenses and to publish students and teachers’ researches. The information presented is a result of searches on PPGEP’s official base. The content is managed by different graduate systems from STELA Platform and the information includes data provided by students, teachers and the Program Office.

At BTD, PPGEP dissertations and thesis are organized according to concentration area, author, counselor and defense date. The user can navigate the system to search for current defenses dates, defenses occurred in the last months, or even to verify already defended work.

Another BTD feature is to start the Program’s process of setting up defense dates, which allows a PPGEP student to send his defense request to the Office and to his counselor, including all data about his work and examining board. The system analyzes all required criteria (example: number of credits) and if they are accomplished, redirects the request to the student’s counselor. After his authorization, the Office examines additional requirements and sets the defense local and date.
